Greeting Time

What a wonderful and thoughtful way to start the day! Creating a welcoming environment for children can make a significant difference in their mood and readiness to learn. It's great that PODAR PREP has implemented such a positive and inclusive ritual. Do you have a favourite greeting method that the children enjoy the most? 😊

2

Daily 5

It helps children understand the concept of days, weeks, and months, giving them a sense of time. It creates a predictable routine, which is comforting and helps children feel secure. Learning about the weather helps them understand their environment and how it changes. It fosters a sense of connection and community as they share and listen to each other’s observations.

3

Play-Explore-Learn

At PODAR PREP, children enjoy free play time with three corners featuring various toys and play-based learning materials. These activities, integrated with Coding and S.T.R.E.A.M(Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) help children choose, explore, play, and learn while developing their social skills.

4

Circle Time

It is a special activity that helps children develop friendly relationships and enhances their communication and language skills. During Circle Time, children enjoy singing rhymes and engaging in whole class discussions, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere.

5

Numeracy and Literacy

At PODAR PREP, snack time is more than just eating—it's an opportunity for children to learn essential life skills. They enjoy healthy snacks while practicing communication, sharing, and time management in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

6

Transitions

Transitions are brief 'brain breaks' that help children smoothly shift from one activity to the next, enhancing focus and reducing stress.

7

Understanding My World

It engages children with new concepts through storytelling and interactive teaching aids like picture talks and flashcards. This is followed by hands-on activities integrating S.T.R.E.A.M and CODING to make learning more practical and enjoyable.

8

Active Exploration

Outdoor and physical play significantly enhance children's gross motor development. Teachers will take children outdoors for games and activities, ensuring they engage in fun and beneficial physical exercise.

9

Bye-Bye Time / Reverence

Reverence helps children encapsulate and remember the day's learning and hands-on exploration. It allows them to recall activities and express their favourite moments, reinforcing their understanding and enjoyment.
